Murau and its 721 years of brewing history

For Murau, the period from the 13th century was overwhelmingly important. Locally brewed beer slipped down citizens’ throats for the first time. Later, the rules for the standardisation of beer and drinking vessels were laid down in the official town privileges of 1298.

More than 700 years of Murau’s beer history are eloquently told along the picturesque Mur promenade.
